Acadia Hospital Psychiatrist Appointed Distinguished Life Fellow

Bangor, Me—Eric W. Kuntz, M.D., LFAPA, Medical Director of Acadia Hospital’s Pediatric Outpatient Service, has been designated a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (LFAPA).

Distinguished Fellowship is awarded to outstanding psychiatrists who have made significant contributions to the psychiatric profession in at least five of the following areas: administration, teaching, scientific and scholarly publications, volunteering in mental health and medical activities of social significance, community involvement, as well as for clinical excellence. Distinguished Fellow is the highest membership honor the APA bestows upon members.

Dr. Kuntz has been employed at Acadia since the pediatric service opened in 1993. “I have had the pleasure of knowing and learning from Dr. Kuntz for many years. He is a well-respected physician in the community and has contributed greatly to Acadia Hospital and the people of Maine. He is more than deserving of this recognition,” commented Acadia Hospital Chief Medical Officer Anthony Ng, MD.
