Acadia Hospital Open House Provides Glimpse into Pediatric Services, Capital Campaign

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Announces Major Gift

On June 24th The Acadia Hospital held its first-ever open house since the hospital began operations in 1992, and over 70 community members attended the special event. The open house featured Acadia Pediatric Outpatient Services staff sharing information on the various services offered with informative displays and interactive demonstrations.

In addition, Acadia unveiled plans for a new Pediatric and Family Center that will be located on the hospital's campus, and is the major component of the hospital's current Keep the Promise capital campaign. In welcoming the open house attendees, Acadia President and CEO Dorothy Hill commented, "The Pediatric and Family Center will provide space for all our child and adolescent outpatient services, as well as house our school program. It will be the first center of its kind in the state and it will allow us to expand our programming and accommodate the growing outpatient treatment needs for our youngest patients. The design will welcome patients and their families and allow for the best in outcome-based treatment."

One of the evening's highlights featured a check presentation made by Bar Harbor Trust Services Managing Director and Trust Officer Joe Pratt, and Vice President and Trust Officer Mischelle Adams. The bank has pledged $25,000 to the Keep the Promise campaign, and the gift was gratefully received by Hill, and Acadia Board Chair, John Bragg. In presenting the check Pratt stated, "On behalf of Bar Harbor Bank & Trust and Bar Harbor Trust Services it is our pleasure to announce our $25,000 pledge to the Keep The Promise Campaign. With roots in Hancock and Washington counties, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust is very familiar with the help Acadia Hospital provides for people Downeast and throughout the entire Eastern Maine region. Congratulations on the success of the campaign so far, and thank you for the opportunity to show our support."
