What is this project?
This is a grass roots project, starting in September of 2011, in which artistic works were solicited from the patients at the Acadia Hospital for display. Several clinical staff members partnered with the leadership at Acadia to launch and introduce the opportunity for staff, patients, and the public, to appreciate and honor the talents of the artists.

The Acadia Artisan project provides an opportunity for patients to have their creativity and competence honored through public display of artwork. This project embodies Acadia Hospital’s mission of hope and recovery.

History of the Project
Since the initial display in September of 2011, there have been total of 26 pieces of artwork, in three separate showings that have been on display at Acadia Hospital. The artwork encompasses canvas oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, hand crafted jewelry, nature photography, and digitally created art. Each display rotation of the artwork embraces and represents the theme of hope and recovery, a message we work to share with all.
