Battle of the Bands Celebrates Acadia Hospital’s 25th Anniversary, raising approximately $30,000

Posted: 09/20/2017

On Saturday, September 16, over 300 people danced the night away while supporting Acadia Hospital’s mission of empowerment and celebrating its 25th anniversary. The sixth annual Acadia Hospital Foundation Battle of the Bands returned to the Cross Insurance Center for another evening of fun and friendly competition.

Returning to the stage for a rematch from the previous year were The Allison Ames Band and Motor Booty Affair. The big winner of the night was Acadia’s youth services, as the event raised approximately $30,000 in cash and in-kind donations.

Acadia Hospital President Dan Coffey, who will be retiring at the end of September, and who was recognized onstage for his contributions to Acadia’s success, commented, “I look forward to attending Battle of the Bands each year because it brings Acadia employees and community members together for the same purpose; having a fun time and raising money that helps Acadia Hospital pursue its mission of empowering people to improve their lives. As the hospital celebrates 25 years of service and prepares to embark on the next 25 years, I’d like to thank everyone who makes this event so successful – the bands, volunteers, sponsors, and attendees.”

The event was made possible because of the following sponsors—Bangor Daily News, Blueberry Broadcasting, Webber Group, Russell Investments, Bangor Savings Bank, and Bronson Audio & Visual.

Acadia Hospital, a member of EMHS, is a fully accredited and licensed non-profit psychiatric hospital whose mission it is to empower people to improve their lives.
