ROCKLAND, Me -- On April 9, Acadia Healthcare, Inc. was pleased to host a ribbon cutting and open house for their new mental health clinic at 116 Tillson Avenue in Rockland. Acadia Healthcare Program Manager Annie Gray, along with Acadia Healthcare Assistant Program Manager  Bobbie Jo Benjamin and other Acadia representatives, were assisted in the celebratory ribbon cutting by Rockland City Councilors Louise MacClellan Ruf and Larry Pritchett, as well as Rockland City Manager Jim Chaousis, Rockland Community Economic Development Director Audra Caler-Bell, Penobscot Bay Chamber of Commerce Director of Membership Development Karen Brace, and Executive Director of Rockland Main Street, Inc.
Gordon Page, Sr.
This event was an opportunity for the downtown community to welcome Acadia Healthcare Family Behavioral Health Services, as well provide an opportunity for everyone in the community to learn more about the mental health services offered at the clinic.
The clinic currently provides services for people from both Knox and Waldo Counties including psychiatric consultation and medication management, outpatient therapy, and child and adult case management. In addition, Acadia Healthcare has a successful partnership with both Rockland and Camden Rockport schools to provide therapy and day treatment services. A diverse group of 80-90 people from the community attended the event representing schools, medical providers, area businesses, career development, city and state government, and other mental health providers.
Gray remarked, “We are proud to represent Acadia Hospital and EMHS. For quite some time they have been quietly and successfully expanding community based access for people in need of mental health services. Our providers in the Rockland clinic are all exceptional, and have deep roots in Rockland and the surrounding area. We believe that we will only strengthen these relationships by continuing to be exceptional partners with others in the community and offering the highest quality services to those we serve. I think we are off to a good start.”

Pinny Beebe Center, Former Knox County commissioner and current Maine state representative for House District 93 representing Rockland and Owls Head added, “Acadia Healthcare has been a great addition to our community. They are collaborative partners and have such a commitment to quality services. Our community is better off for their presence and the services they are offering.”

Acadia Healthcare is the community-based arm of Acadia Hospital, which is a member of EMHS. The clinic is accepting new clients and offers fast access to services. Simply call our Rockland office at 930-0387 to make an appointment or to refer a client.
